This Europe budget tour gives ‘Blitz’ a new name! For those who are time poor but really want to travel as much of Europe as they can in 10 days - this is the one for you. There are some big cities here - Paris, Amsterdam, Venice and Munich, as well as some iconic locations (The leaning Tower of Pisa and a cruise down the Rhine Valley). Day 1: Visit Amsterdam
Welcome to your tour of Europe! Farewell London! Today, you shall be escorted cross the English Channel, for your Netherlands adventure! After passing through Belgium, you will arrive in Amsterdam, ready to Explore! Your Expat tour leader will check you in to your hotel, and then whisk you off to the city centre, where your first optional excursion awaits - an Amsterdam Canal cruise (complete with pizza and ice cream). Alternatively, you have free time spend as you wish, before your evening guided walking tour of the infamous Red Light District, begins. Day 2: Visit the Rhine Valley
Cheese and Clogs you say? How very Dutch! Why not follow that with a relaxing, afternoon cruise up the Rhine River? This morning, prepare to be entertained by local cheese and clog makers, who demonstrate on the art of traditional manufacturing of these products. You have time to sample the cheesy delights, whilst you clomp in the local ‘klompen’ (Dutch for ‘clogs’), before journeying to Germany. On the way, you will visit the historical windmill village of Zaanse Schans and see how the use of wind power enabled numerous industries to thrive in the region. Your Europe tour continues through one of the most picturesque regions of the Rhine River, where you can savour historic castles, wineries, and breathtaking scenery, from the deck of a river boat. Drifting your way into a stunning, gothic German village on the banks of the Rhine, you will check into your accommodation, enjoy a meal, and have the evening free to meander the cobbled streets. Day 3: Visit Munich
From the Rhine, to the stein - your Europe tour will escort you further into the heart of Germany, to one of the Continent’s most popular destinations - Munich! This Bavarian capital is known the world over for its famous beer festival - ‘Oktoberfest’, and its world class collection of modern, classic and ancient artworks, housed in numerous museums scattered throughout the centre. Listen carefully on your Expat Explore walking tour, as to how Munich was lovingly restored after 80% of the old town was destroyed in WW2...and other interesting tidbits which make this cosmopolitan city one of the most visited locations on the planet. Day 4: Visit Venice
From beers, to gondoliers! Follow your tour leader to one of the most romantic locations in Europe - the Italian city of Venice! However, today is about the journey, and the destination. We take you on a stunning drive through the Brenner Pass and meander your way south, to Venice - a city perched on 118 islands, and home to the famous Murano glass blowing and Burano lace. Explore Venice on foot with your walking tour, and witness the famous Rialto Bridge, St Mark’s Square, the Bridge of Sighs and the Doge’s Palace. The rest of the day is yours to lose yourself amongst the plazas, canals, cafes and restaurants. Gondola ride, anyone? Breakfast. Overnight in Venice, Italy
Day 5: Visit Florence and Tuscany
Arrivederci, Venice...Ciao, Tuscany! In no way are you ready to leave Italy just yet! Most famous for wine, dining, art, architecture and the birthplace of Renaissance, you are given the opportunity to explore Florence, located in the heart of the Tuscan region. A local Italian guide can’t wait to show you around, and allow you to marvel in the truly unique atmosphere of this classical and classy city. The Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio and Santa Croce Basilica all feature in this guided tour, as well as many other man made tributes and artworks. If you have time after the tour, why not visit Michelangelo’s masterpiece sculpture ‘David’, at Galleria dell\'Accademia? Winding down, you will head to your accommodation in the beautiful Tuscan hills, and notice the beautiful afternoon light which radiates across the land - is it any wonder this region attracts and inspires so many famous artists? Day 6: Visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa and Switzerland
There is lots to love about Switzerland! For a start, their flag is a big plus... Today you will head to the spectacular Swiss Alpine region and fill your lungs with the freshest mountain air, after you have visited the world famous Leaning Tower of Pisa! Get creative with your photo’s (no ‘selfies’ here...you will need both hands to pretend to hold up one of the tallest bell towers in Europe!). Uploading your Pisa-pushing creations, will be sure to generate some great responses from your friends. Once back on the road, sit back and prepare yourself for magic views, stunning scenery and majestic snow topped mountains. Every turn is a post card. Day 7: Spend a free day in the Swiss Alps
Are you excited? It’s a guaranteed snow day! For 365 days of the year, Jungfraujoch is blessed with snow, and today you have the chance to explore the ‘Top of Europe’ on one of our most popular optional excursions. The journey up the mountain is a highlight in itself, with unmatched views which will really make your Europe tour unforgettable. This 4000m glacier has a beauty all of its own, and the combination of ice, snow, rock and epic views will stay with you for life. Once at the top, frolic as you will. Day 8: Visit Paris.
Today your tour of Europe continues to France! With your fingers still numb from snowball fights, and soft sound of cowbells dinging throughout the Alps, you will depart for Paris - the City of Love and Lights. As we approach the city, it\'s time to sit forward and take notice. Our Expat Explore driving tour of this cosmopolitan metropolis, will mean you won\'t want to miss a thing, as Paris is home to some of the most famous man-made structures on the planet. The Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, The Louvre, Notre Dame, Champs-Élysées,...take it all in. Once you have checked into your hotel for the evening, your Parisian adventure will continue to unfold however you choose... Breakfast. Overnight in Paris, France.
Day 9: Spend a free day in Paris.
Up for some French Couture? Time to make Paris, the perfect fit for you. Whether it\'s culture, cuisine or cruising the city, you crave, the French capital will not disappoint. A Seine River cruise to the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame, perhaps? Maybe a visit to the Louvre to see famous artworks and paintings. Montmartre favours those who savour flavour, in offering quaint, Parisian style alfresco restaurants and cafes, with a beautiful view of the city, just behind the Sacre Coeur. Tickle the taste buds with some traditional French delicacies in the bohemian Spanish Quarter. Not forgetting, Paris Disneyland is always popular choice for the day! Day 10: Return to London.
It may be the last day of your European tour but it’s not over yet! After breakfast, you will get to savour the French countryside, one last time. After crossing the English Channel, you are back on UK soil and about to complete your Europe tour.
